This is taken on the day I don’t wash my hair. I tend to wash it every other day. I would say it is because I have read several articles that tell me it is damaging to shampoo my hair every day, but really, I am lazy and it takes a long time for my hair to dry.

Right now I use a generic Head and Shoulders, some gel sometimes and a “make your hair less frizzy and more shiny” concoction. But, after my baking soda post and finding Hazeltree Farm’s post, I have decided that baking soda shampoo and vinegar conditioner will be going on to these locks that I love. Hopefully they still love me back after a few weeks.

I will give you my recipe for a baking soda/vinegar hair washing ritual when I get the doses right.

My mother makes a note to always remind me that I have been blessed with perfect hair. She’s not kidding. I take horrible care of my hair. Its lucky if it gets brushed once a week. But, it stays strong and dedicated. I have been searching for the perfect homemade shampoo recipe, but have yet to try one. Last week I learned that baking soda, among the other thousand amazing uses it has, can rid your hair of those nasty chemicals you sometimes throw in it for shits and giggles. Well, spices can do that for you to. The next time you feel like being nice to your bob mix up a few herbs and spices and give it a lift. For Dark Hair: Mix 1 teaspoon each of allspice, cinnamon, and cloves with 1 cup boiling water. Let it steep for 30 minutes. Use this mixture as a final rinse after you have shampooed your hair. Pour over hair several times (you will need one bowl for pouring and one bowl for catching so you can repeat the process). After a few go around, rinse it out and you are done! For Light Hair: Do the same as above, [...]
